Spending a full day out on your boat can be an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable experience, but in order for that to be the case, you need to make sure that you are fully prepared for your trip. No matter the activity that you plan on doing, you will need equipment for that as well as some other essentials. By remembering your checklist, you can be sure to be completely prepared so you can truly be out on the water all day.
Perhaps the most popular activity to do when boating is fishing and if that is in your plans, you will need all of your fishing gear including fishing poles, bait, nets, and somewhere to store your catch. If you plan on doing some other activity, be sure to take supplies with as well, whether that is a tube for tubing or some water skis.
Depending on what your plans are, you may be so busy that you forget to eat, but even if that is the case, you donít want to skip any meals. Try to bring with a few small snacks as well as sandwiches or other meals to give you options while on the boat. There are even local restaurants right along the water where you can buy some cold sandwiches that are perfect for lunch while out on the water. These are the ideal option because you can buy them earlier in the day and they will still be good in the afternoon, although a cooler may be a good idea if you get a sandwich with fish or meat in it.
The final item on your boating checklist will of course be safety equipment. You will need to have a life jacket for each passenger at the very least but should also have other flotation devices. Keeping a first aid kit on hand is also ideal as you donít want to be forced to return to land early just for a simple cut or scrape that would be fine with a bandage.
